I have been posting on Google Blogger for a very long time and I have NEVER had such special treatment... it always worked the 1st time and everyone was able to view my posts without changing and verifying my phone number. You OUGHT to re-consider the Data Protection Policies, because as it stands, this breeches it!!!
STILL DID NOT WORK.
In Malta, Europe, today there appears to be an investigation team from the EU who can not read the information I have published on this site that they may be here to investigate - getting only one side of the story, theirs!
I haven't been able to access it since their arrival...
This is the 3rd time now in aproximately 24 hours and still not able to log into my email to make available for public viewing (a setting that I did not change to "private") my blogspot.com account:

ME 2nd - ??? why do I have to do this? isn't changing my number on my google account to the new one enough???
Google: Updating your phone number is a great step toward securing your account, but if you believe you have been hacked, it's important to ensure no other unauthorized changes were made. Performing a Security Checkup allows you to review recent activity and confirm that only you have access.
If you have your new phone and can sign in, you can update your recovery phone number directly here: Update recovery phone.
Alternatively, here are the steps to update it from your Google Account page:
Click Security.
Under "How you sign in to Google," click Recovery phone.
Next to your number, click Edit Edit.
Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your new number.
Please note that it may take up to 7 days for a new recovery phone number to be available for sensitive actions like password resets.
